Where your donations go
As you can imagine, maintaining a completely free resource for sharing Buddhist wisdom is no small task – especially when we rely solely on the generosity of our community. Contributions to SBT support a wide range of essential needs of our organization. These include: maintaining our website; the cost of our Zoom account; cloud storage for educational materials, recorded teachings, and programs; and ongoing upgrades to our social media technology.

Donations also help provide
Direct support to Sangha members in need, as well as caring for and sustaining our teacher, Venerable Tarpa, who receives no salary. As a monastic, Venerable Tarpa lives by vows and precepts that guide his life of renunciation and service, including: poverty and homelessness, relinquishing material possessions, and refraining from profit, trade, credit, or monetary gain. Sustained solely by the kindness of others, he lives a humble and simple life with a vow to not be a burden on others. Your generosity helps to ensure and preserve this rare and dedicated monastic way of life. A tradition that has been continuously maintained since the time of the Buddha.
